History of G.H. McCulloch

Grant Howard McCulloch Jr., the Company Founder, was renowned in the industry for building robust relationships and adhering to a unique approach known as' The McCulloch Way.' This approach, rooted in over 70 years of industry experience, emphasizes integrity, quality, and customer satisfaction. Grant, sharing his father’s name and passion for construction, purchased his first company, Misco Services, in 1975 and established G.H. McCulloch Inc. in 1985. His drive and determination transformed G.H. McCulloch, Inc. into a full-service industrial and mechanical contractor, undertaking projects in the 80s and 90s that ranged from complete paper machine installations and rebuilds to plant support and maintenance.

As the company grew, non-family members joined the team to take the company to the next level. The McCulloch family viewed new team members as an extension of their family, creating a work environment built on trust and shared values.

In the early 2000s, Grant’s sons, Grant Howard McCulloch III and Thomas Hubert Barker took control of the company. The company’s primary emphasis was changed from paper machines to code welding and mechanical services on pressure vessels, boilers, power/process piping, and API Tanks. G.H. McCulloch, Inc. holds a National Accredited ASME ‘S’ Certification and NBIC ‘R’ Stamp.

In 2024, Grant Howard McCulloch III and Thomas Hubert Barker passed the baton to the third generation, their sons Grant Howard McCulloch IV, now President, and Ryan Thomas Barker, Vice President. Grant and Ryan both carry the same values as their grandfather, fathers, and uncles did before them. This winning combination of experience, coupled with the company’s full range of professional services, allows GHM to maintain a consistently high level of performance and deliver projects within the parameters of time, budget, and quality. In a word, “versatility” best describes their services. Modern equipment, experience, and a "can do" attitude have given them the flexibility to handle everyday jobs ranging from machinery maintenance to complete plant erection.

Today, Grant III and Tom remain deeply invested in the company, both as chairmen of the board.

There’s no doubt they’re all in it for the long haul. They all love what they do, and they’re not stopping anytime soon!
